Assitej u Hrvatskoj udružuje 22 profesionalna kazališta za djecu i mlade, 16 profesionalno vođenih dramskih studija i 6 individualnih članova. Cilj Hrvatskog centra Assitej je biti vodećom krovnom udrugom kazališta za djecu i mlade u Hrvatskoj.

Svrha nam je odgajanje mlade kazališne publike na umjetnički vrijednim predstavama prilagođenim dobnim i recepcijskim mogućnostima djece, stvarajući od njih u budućnosti kazališno odgojenog gledatelja.
